2024 Farm to Table

$200.00

2024 Farm to Table Fundraiser Fiesta:

We are pleased to open our 2nd Annual Farm to Table Fundraiser Fiesta to anyone in our supportive community who wants to experience our on-farm dining experience, offered just once a year.

The dinner will be hosted at Thrive Flower Farm around a long table with lights draped casually overhead on Saturday, October 26. We will begin serving the 4-Course meal with appetizers at 5:30. Guest may start arriving at 4:50 to begin their evening stroll around the flowers with snips and a vase for keeps.

Thrive Flowers Farm is located at 2102 W. 68th St. Stillwater, OK.

Dress is all things fall! Think of your favorite fall pieces, like flannels, sweaters, boots, and scarves! I want you to come dressed in your favorite things of the season, ready to enjoy a great night.

Lord Willing, and as mentioned, every ticket holder will take a stroll marking the end the 2024 U-Pick season prior to dinner.

In the unfortunate event that we have weather that will prevent us from meeting at Thrive Flower Farm, the meal, music, and flowers will resume indoors at Perkins Church of Christ. 1200 Lovers Ln, Perkins, OK.

Why We Do What We Do:

Most know Thrive Flower Farm exists solely to raise money for our 501c3 nonprofit, Change for Congo. This organization was started in 2016 by Bobby and I shortly after bringing our son home after a long adoption process. We became fast friends with Sadiki who helped us finally bring Mosi home. We helped him start this orphanage from the ground up after quickly agreeing to help with the financial. Sadiki continues as our director and facilities manager today. Currently we have 31 children living at The Hope House in Goma, DRC.

All proceeds from our flower farm and this fundraiser event go directly to support and sustain daily life for these parentless children including school fees, food, housing, and medical needs, as well as, staff salaries. Thank you for considering to attend this dinner, which will bridge the gap between our monthly sponsorships and flower farm profits for our Congo Cuties.

Farm to Table Background:

Before the first seed was planted on the farm, I dreamed of one day hosting friends, family, donors, and neighbors around one long table to share a meal and give thanks for what the Lord has allowed us to do with so many generous supporters. My in-laws attended a Farm to Tabor Dinner in their small town, igniting the idea. I knew this was just the right way to use my gifts as a farmer and our desire to share this opportunity by honoring the two things we work hard for, our farm and our mission. Last year, we hosted the first Farm to Table Dinner and it was more than I could have imagined. It truly was a memorable night.

This year we want to invite YOU and a guest. We only sell pairs of tickets to ensure everyone has a someone. Because things are more enjoyable with a someone and we definitely want all our ones to enjoy!

The Dinner:

We grow what we can of the meal and buy from local farmers or vendors what we can’t. Then we cook everything in our home, family style, but with great attention to detail and high level of quality and care for each dish. Our good friends come over to pitch in the day or two prior to the dinner. It’s a labor of love that I delight in sharing with my guest. Dinner will be lovingly served by our children and a few friends, we can assure you they will make every effort to accommodate you on this occasion. Your donation is in the price of your ticket so no fussy money talk over the meal. You will hear a little about our farm, our Congo cuties, and I’ll likely cry a little because it’s so fun to see this all come together. Then we’ll all just sit back and enjoy a wonderful time.

The feeling of this meal was intended to be a charming smallish but meaningful celebration of thanks, for what the Lord has done over the years for our African family. We want you to savor the moment you’re in with the people in front of you.

This year we have a Tex-mex theme, I don’t see how it could go wrong? Chips and salsa, live music, Lord willing, beautiful weather (start praying now) and again, weather permitting a trip about out flower patches to pick your own bouquet.

I really don’t want anyone to miss out who wants to come! I surely do hope you can join us!

Blessing,

Sara
